Event Description:

WHAT: The 9th Annual Bike 5 | 5 Cities, 1 Mission, Pedaling Towards Safer Mobility

WHO: Riders of any age and bicycling ability.

WHY: The rides are tailored to anyone wanting to discover low-stress trails, paths, and neighborhood roads around Central Florida.

The 9th Annual BIKE 5 rolls out Saturday, October 25—and we need your help to make it happen! 

This signature event is more than just a ride—it’s a fundraiser that fuels Bike/Walk Central Florida’s year-round advocacy for safer streets and better biking and walking infrastructure across Central Florida. 

We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to serve as ride leaders, sweeps, and event support. Whether you're guiding a group or helping behind the scenes, your time and energy directly support our mission to create a more connected, bike-friendly region. 

BIKE 5 is unique because it has 5 starting locations to choose from. All locations are in need of volunteers and ride leaders! Join the team and be part of the movement! The 2025 start locations are: 

• Orlando – Colonialtown Neighborhood Center (10-mi or 30-mile)
• Winter Park - Mead Botanical Garden (10-mile or 30-mile)
• Eatonville – Denton Johnson Community Center (30-mile)
• Maitland - Maitland Community Park (30-mile)
• Casselberry – Wirz Park (30-mile)

• Bike/Walk Central Florida is holding a high-visibility sign-waving campaign at the crosswalk of S. Beach St. & Cedar St. to bring awareness to the driver yield rate at the intersection. Staff, volunteers, and partners will line the road with signs to capture the attention of drivers passing through. The event will take place from 9:00 - 10:30AM at the crosswalk.

• Bike/Walk Central Florida is holding a high-visibility sign-waving campaign at the crosswalk of S. Ocean Shore Blvd. at Gamble Rogers State Park to bring awareness to the driver yield rate at the intersection. Staff, volunteers, and partners will line the road with signs to capture the attention of drivers passing through. The event will take place from 9:00 - 10:30AM at the crosswalk.

To make this event a success, we need our amazing volunteers to assist with teaching safe biking practices and helmet fittings. Your participation will help ensure a safe and fun experience for all participants! 

Education Support Needed:

• Provide guidance on bike and road safety.
• Support operations throughout the day.

Helmet Fitters Needed: 

• Provide guidance on helmet safety and usage and ensure each child leaves with a correctly fitted helmet
• You must have active helmet fitter certification to volunteer for this role.
