Event Description:

WHAT: The 9th Annual Bike 5 | 5 Cities, 1 Mission, Pedaling Towards Safer Mobility

WHO: Riders of any age and bicycling ability.

WHY: The rides are tailored to anyone wanting to discover low-stress trails, paths, and neighborhood roads around Central Florida.

Volunteer Needs: You may sign up for more than 1!

  • Ride Guides Volunteer Committee
    • Help recruit and train ride leaders and sweeps for guided rides
      • Ride leaders ensure a smooth experience for participants
      • Sweeps provide support & ensure no one is left behind.
    • Attend 3-4 virtual 30-min. meetings between May-Oct.
    • Help review documentation
    • Conduct training rides with ride leaders
  • Route Development & Marking Committee
    • Assist with pre-event route audits, Ride with GPS cue verification and arrow marking along the route.
    • Attend at least 3 virtual 30-min meetings between May-Oct.
    • Assist with documentation
    • Conduct training rides with ride leaders
    • Help with route marking the day before the event.
  • City Stop Volunteers Committee
    • Help with city stop logistics, recruit volunteers, and prepare for event-day activities.
    • Attend at least 3 virtual 30-min. meetings between May-Oct.
    • Assist with outreach communications
    • Help with preparing at our VentureX office the day before the event
    • Pick up and drop off supplies for your stop the day before and the day after from the VentureX office
  • Marketing & Fundraising Committee
    • Assist in securing sponsorships and engaging community partners
    • Support event promotions marketing strategy and execution.
    • Attend at least 2 virtual 30-min meetings between Apr-Sep
    • Assist with introductions and outreach to potential sponsors, in-kind support, support our marketing strategy
    • Assist with any day-of event photography/videography or other marketing needs
  • Other:
    • Provide specialized support
      • Bike support/repair at event
      • Etc. - Reach out to Anna S. if you have a way to help!
  • Event Day Participation
    • City Stop Volunteer
      • Help manage a city stop
      • Engage with riders
      • Assist with set up and breakdown of stop
    • Ride Leader or Ride Sweep
      • Guide a group ride
      • Provide support on your bike to participants
    • Participant
      • Enjoy the ride!
      • Assist with setup and breakdown of event

To make this event a success, we need our amazing volunteers to assist with teaching safe biking practices and helmet fittings. Your participation will help ensure a safe and fun experience for all participants! 

Education Support Needed:

  • Provide guidance on bike and road safety.
  • Support operations throughout the day.

Helmet Fitters Needed: 

  • Provide guidance on helmet safety and usage and ensure each child leaves with a correctly fitted helmet
  • You must have active helmet fitter certification to volunteer for this role.

Event Details: 

Date: Wednesday, May 14
Set-up: 8:45 AM 
Event Start: 9:00 AM 
Event End: 3:00 PM 

We kindly request a 2-hour minimum commitment and appreciate any time you can contribute. Materials will be provided on the day of the event.

Set-up: 6:30 AM 
Event Start: 8:30 AM 
Event End: 11:30 AM
